I've had to pay someone else to clean the stains even though I paid for this service.Design projects rely heavily on visual tools that illustrate the project's features and overall atmosphere, and whether you are an architect, interior designer, furniture designer, or engineer, the term 'mood board' has definitely come up at some point during the early stages of the design process. There are hundreds of complaints with the BBB against them. So I had to call Guardsman who had to snail mail me a form to complete to mail back, but then the 30 days had past. Well, it took me HOURS to resize the photos and I NEVER got them right. The very first claim I tried to file on line REQUIRED me to upload photos that had strict size requirements (this has now changed). The claim never made it to them, then the 30 days had past after I called and called and called. The online claims process is completing an online form then having to mail it in via snail mail. Guardsman said they don't clean pet soiling. I filed a claim when a dog rubbed dirt onto the front side of the sofa.literally just dragged his body on the front cushion. They have found every excuse to not actually address a single claim. I purchased a $7K custom sofa and thought this would be a good investment. I've had a guardsman plan for 3 of 5 years and it's been a waste of time and money. So, I'm not an expert, but I would not spend money on this type of warranty. Lastly, I'm going to point this out: after you contact the warranty person with a stain, and the stain has set there for a few days or a week, then what do you think that person knows about stain removal that you can't find out yourself on the internet with a couple searches? The trick with stains is to get them out right away before they become set. But I chose the fabric VERY wisely, after reading up on every attribute. If something does spill on it, I would probably dab it all up, and maybe spray some Resolve on it. In a house full of teenagers (who do not always obey the rule about no food and drink in the TV room), and a lot of rambunctious dogs, the sofa fabric looks great! No visible stains, no rips. We bought a custom huge sectional maybe 4-5 years ago. Breakdown of cushions or frame, poor choices about depth and comfort of sofa, tears (puppies anyone?), and the ever-popular whatever-it-is that is "not covered under the warranty". Such as: choosing a fabric with a "W" designation instead of "S" (I believe that means cleanable with water-based cleaners instead of solvents) choosing a fabric that perhaps isn't a true solid, so that stains won't show so much (some fabrics appear to be gray, for example, but close actually have flecks of other colors) choose a fabric that has a very high Wyzenbeek double-rub number, so it will last.īe aware that stains are only ONE thing that could determine the eventual death of the sofa. Instead of this, I recommend (depending on the cost of the sofa), using your own good sense to prepare for how long the sofa might last. But I generally believe that this type of insurance/warranty service plan are generally money-wasters instead of money-savers.
